As part of Trane Technologies, AL‑KO Airtech is making a meaningful contribution to the Gigaton Challenge – one of the world’s most ambitious initiatives to reduce carbon emissions in the built environment. Together, we are committed to helping our customers reduce their carbon footprint by 1 gigaton by 2030 – equivalent to removing 1 billion metric tons of CO₂ from the atmosphere compared to 2019 levels.

The Gigaton Challenge unites enterprise‑wide actions that accelerate energy efficiency, electrification, and next‑generation sustainable building technologies. Our efforts focus on:

Scaling innovative, climate‑forward technologies, including the transition of air‑handling and HVAC systems to natural, low‑GWP refrigerants
Developing integrated, system‑level solutions and fully embedding heat pumps into our air‑handling systems to deliver significantly higher energy efficiency
Reducing shared Scope 3 emissions across the entire value chain
