Climate Innovation in Practice: AL‑KO Airtech Air Handling Units Combine Indoor Air Quality and Cost‑Effectiveness
To significantly reduce emissions and energy consumption in buildings, the right system solution is essential. Efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective ventilation and air-conditioning technology is needed. This is exactly where we at AL-KO Airtech come in: with air-handling units (AHUs) that combine air quality, energy efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
One example is the AL-KO AT4 series: this customized ventilation unit has a modular design, with a modular system containing well over 100,000 different components. This allows an AT4 system to be adapted to any architectural situation and configured individually, from compact units for public institutions to hygienic designs for hospitals to special solutions for industry and data centers. We keep the individual components, such as drives, fans, and control technology, up to date with the latest developments – for maximum energy efficiency and minimum operating costs.
Thanks to their robust construction, our air handling units have a service life of more than 25 years. This is an important sustainability factor, as each additional year of operation saves resources and CO₂ emissions. Another special feature is the AL-KO AT4 Complete design: the individually configured and factory-assembled system can be installed and commissioned on site at the customer’s premises with ease. The result: fewer interfaces, faster commissioning, and greater predictability.
However, the real challenge is not only to constantly develop new AHUs, but also to intelligently combine existing and new components. In this area as well, we are your strong partner with many years of expertise, offering needs-based, cost-efficient system solutions that contribute to sustainable decarbonization.
This article is part of our four‑part series, Climate Innovation in Practice. Stay tuned – together we can achieve great things!
