AL-KO Airtech x Trane: Powerful Combination of Equipment and Expertise
The new, perfectly coordinated climate control systems from AL-KO Airtech and Trane are now available. They impressively combine the expertise of both companies in the field of innovative ventilation and air conditioning technology, representing the current state of development.
AL-KO AT4 COMPLETE with Trane® City™ RTSF HT
The customizable, modular AL-KO AT4 air handling unit is now available with individual rotors and new components that enable vertical airflow. This is an ideal option, especially when installation space is limited. The unit itself also requires a relatively small footprint in this configuration. The intelligent control system and efficient fan drives ensure highly efficient operation.
The AL-KO AT4 is combined with Trane’s high-temperature heat pump RTSF HT, which uses the climate-neutral refrigerant R290 (propane) and operates with high efficiency. The heat pump features patented screw compressor technology and advanced controls, capable of delivering hot water at temperatures up to 110°C (230°F). Trane is the first provider worldwide to offer high-temperature heat pumps up to 110°C with standardized technologies, industrial manufacturing, and a comprehensive sales and service network.

The new high-temperature water-to-water heat pump Trane® City™ RTSF HT delivers hot water at temperatures up to 110°C (230°F) and helps companies decarbonize their industrial process heat.
AL-KO AHU with Trane LEAF
The Air Handling Unit (AHU) from AL-KO, based on the AT4, is combined with the Trane LEAF heat pump, a new generation of air-to-water heat pumps. It also operates with the climate-friendly refrigerant R290. Trane LEAF offers heating and cooling capacities ranging from 8 to 30 kW, providing sustainable comfort and hot water production for light commercial and residential buildings. The unit is also available on a rental basis through Trane.
R290 is a non-toxic refrigerant with a direct Global Warming Potential (GWP) value of 0.02 and an Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) of zero. By utilizing the exceptional thermodynamic properties of propane and its near-zero GWP value, Trane LEAF helps reduce both direct and indirect emissions.
Together for a better environment
The new climate and ventilation units, especially the development of the Trane LEAF, are fully aligned with the commitment of AL-KO and Trane to sustainable innovations. By developing sustainable cooling and heating solutions, we contribute to significantly reducing carbon emissions in the industries and markets we serve. Our goal is to advance our corporate-wide 2030 sustainability commitments, including the Gigaton Challenge – reducing our customers’ greenhouse gas emissions by 1 billion tons.
