According to current data, the building stock in Europe still has major shortcomings in terms of energy efficiency. More than half of the required savings, 55%, must be achieved by 2030 through the renovation of the least energy-efficient buildings, according to the revised EU Buildings Directive (EPBD)1, which is to be transposed into national law in May 2026.
